Abstract in English Study Aim: This study aimed at shedding light on the magnitude of the crimes committed against the public trust in the Gaza governorates, identifying their spatial distribution and revealing the most widely-spread public trust crimes in the Gaza governorates. Furthermore, the study aimed to determine the demographic, economic and social characteristics of the perpetrators of such crimes and their implications. Study Methodology and Tools: To achieve the aims of the study, the researcher relied on criminal investigation records issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Interior, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, and the Ministry of Planning. The researcher designed a questionnaire which was distributed to the study sample that consisted of eighty-five inmates in all the reform and rehabilitation centers and police stations’ detention centers in Gaza governorates to identify the basic, social, economic and psychological characteristics of the perpetrators of crimes against the public trust. Study Chapters: The study was divided into four chapters, the first of which included the study theoretical framework, while the second examined the geographical dimensions of crimes against the public trust in the Gaza governorates and the factors influencing them. The third chapter tackled the basic, social, economic and psychological characteristics of the perpetrators of crimes against public trust, whereas the fourth chapter comprised the social, economic and religious factors and consequences of crimes against public trust in the Gaza governorates. Study Results: The study revealed that crimes against public trust continue to increase in Gaza governorates, and that the real problem manifests itself in the ruthless economic conditions as (54%) of the study sample committed their crimes as a result of these conditions. Study Recommendation: The study recommended the establishment of police stations in the outskirts of the cities and towns, working on updating the crime statistics and developing the crime laboratory. The study also recommended the inclusion of the crime geography course in police and security academies.
