"Gaza Strip has many historical and heritage monuments that have been neglected and weak interventions during successive periods of political and security changes plus the disregard of sustainable heritage development for poor resources. The study aimed to assess the role of The role of the sustainable dimensions for protection the urban heritage at Gaza strip, the samples discussed were Gaza Valley Reserve, Tal Um Amer, the old Gaza center , the old Khan Younis Center , Alsakan Hill, and Anthidon by using descriptive analytical approach. The methodology describes the reality of sustainable urban heritage and analyzed the interventions that made by local governmental agencies. _x000D__x000D_
The results were that the government interest in applying the sustainable approaches specially in urban heritage protection which was little effected. In addition, the security and political risks affect the sustainability of the urban heritage, and the poor harmony of the architectural heritage monuments with the surrounding urban at Gaza. The study recommended that the need to apply the principles of sustainability of the urban heritage reached by the researchers to improve the response protection and interventions that are compatible with the principles of the sustainability at Gaza Strip. The models designed within frameworks and guidelines that developed the performance of the governmental view and development in the rehabilitation of historical areas_x000D__x000D_
