ملخص الدراسة:
The study aimed to identify the degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary school principals’ practice of strategic planning and its relationship with the development of leadership skills among their teachers. To answer the study questions, the researcher adopted the analytical-descriptive approach and used two questionnaires as the study tools. The first questionnaire, which comprised (46) items distributed among (6) domains, was used to measure the degree of secondary school principals’ practice of strategic planning from the teachers' viewpoint. The second questionnaire, which comprised (39) items distributed among (5) domains, was used to measure the degree of secondary school principals’ practice of their role of the development of leadership skills among their teachers from the teachers' viewpoint. The study population consisted of all secondary school teachers in Gaza Governorates during the scholastic year (2016- 2017). The population size was (4446) male and female teachers, from whom a sample of (450) was selected. The study most important findings were as follows: 1. The study findings showed that the overall mean of the degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary school principals’ practice of strategic planning from the viewpoint of their teachers was high with a percentage weight of (78.40%) and the overall mean of the degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary school principals’ practice of their role in the development of leadership skills among teachers from the teachers’ viewpoint was high with a percentage weight of (77.80%). 2. There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) between the mean scores of the estimate of the study sample of Gaza Governorates’ secondary school teachers of the degree of principals’ practice of strategic planning attributed to the gender variable in favor of the female teachers. Nonetheless, there were no statistically significant differences attributed to the variables of (years of service and academic qualification). 3. There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) between the mean scores of the study sample’s estimate of the degree of Gaza Governorates’ secondary schools’ practice of their role in the development of leadership skills among teachers attributed to the variable of gender in favor of the female teachers, except for the domain related to the humanitarian skills. However, there were no differences attributed to the variable of academic qualifications. In addition, there were no differences attributed to the variable (years of service), with the exception of the domain related to the personal skills. 4. There was a statistically significant positive (proportional) correlation at the significance level (α≤0.05) between the mean scores of the study sample’s estimate of the degree of the principals’ practice of strategic planning and between the mean scores of the sample’s estimate of the degree of their principals’ practice of their role in the development of leadership skills for teachers.
