ملخص الدراسة:

Attempts to collect and classify the work of "The Arab Poets in the Freedom Flotilla Collection" have been fairly good. However, due to their attempts to be the first to document such a historic moment in the modern Palestinian history, classifiers did not distinguish between good and bad poetry nor did they distinguish between 'poetry' and 'non-poetry'. My aim here in this study is to complement the previous work done so far with special emphasis on 'non-poetry' poems. The study gave a definition of 'poetry' and 'non-poetry' and tackled the main causes of 'non-poetry' including those related to the writer, receiver and the critic and those pertaining to collectors. The study also addressed the effects of the inclusion of 'non-poetry' poems, vernacular poetry and ill-formed poetry in the general collections of poetry. It also highlighted the effects resulting from the misunderstanding of meaning and the non-use of poetic tools, an integral component of poetic meaning, and their effects on the quality of poetry, both at substance and form levels. Examples of 'non-poetry' poems have been illustrated.
