ملخص الدراسة:

Study Aim: The study aimed at investigating the impact of cognitive conflict schemes on the development of information generation skills in science among ninth graders. Study Tool: The study tools included a content analysis card and the test of information generation skills Study Sample: The study sample consisted of (66) ninth female graders from Nuseirat Elementary Girl School "C". Study Methodology: The researcher adopted the experimental approach. Study Main Findings: 1- There were statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control group in the posttest of the information generation skills in favor of the experimental group. 2- There were statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) between the mean scores of the high achievers in the experimental group and those of their counterparts in the control group in posttest of the information generation skills in favor of the experimental group. 3- There were statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) between the mean scores of the low achievers in the experimental group and those of their counterparts in the control group in posttest of the information generation skills in favor of the experimental group. Study Main Recommendations: 1- Developing the science curricula and enriching them with activities that may contribute to enhancing the skills of information generation among students. 2- Reformulating some of the topics in general science so that they are designed in the form of schemes of cognitive conflict to give teachers the opportunity to reveal the alternative perceptions among their students and then to work on the development of their information generation skills.
