ملخص الدراسة:

Objective of the study: to identify the level of post-traumatic stress disorder and irrational thoughts of the adolescents whose houses were demolished in north Gaza. The study tools: the researcher used two tools of her preparation (irrational thoughts scale - post-traumatic stress scale). The study sample: the sample consists of the teenagers whose were destroyed in the north the Gaza Strip. The actual sample of the study consisted of (357) persons, while the pilot sample consisted of (51) male and female teenagers. Research methodology: The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach. The most important findings of the study: There is a direct statistically significant weak positive correlation between the total score of the irrational thoughts scale and the total score of post-traumatic stress scale, as well as between all dimensions of adolescents of demolished houses in the north of the Gaza Strip. The relative weight of irrational thoughts was (74.8%), which is a high percentage, and the relative weight of post-traumatic stress was (64.1%). The irrational idea (should an individual be sad for others’ distress and problems) got a relative weight of (80%), while the idea (it's easy to avoid some of the difficulties and personal responsibilities that we face) had a relative weight of (71.5%). The most important recommendations of the study: - Mental health professionals should provide services to adolescents. - There is a need to develop guidance programs for adolescents of demolished houses in north Gaza to reduce the percentage of irrational thoughts they have and to minimize traumatic impacts. - There is a need to improve the living conditions of those who lost their houses.
