Situation of Female Palestinian Unionists' Rights and the Role of Unions in its Development_x000D__x000D_

This study aimed to identify the situation of female union activists in professional unions and their effectiveness; and to identify methods and mechanisms to defend the rights of females unionists. The study posed the following central question: What is the situation of Palestinian female unionist rights? And what is the role of Palestinian unions in developing these rights? _x000D__x000D_

The importance of this study lies in that it highlights an important and complicated issue, which is covered by very few studies. The entry of women into unions is relatively new and has not been studied extensively. The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach, as it suits the phenomena under study. It also relied on an interview tool to collect primary data since the study group is very limited in four active unions in Palestinian society: Engineers, Physicians, Teachers, and Accountants. _x000D__x000D_

The study reached some important conclusions that included:_x000D__x000D_
- There is a noticeable and tangible role of female unionists in active unions in the Gaza Strip_x000D__x000D_
- Female unionist strive to attain their full rights through representation in the boards of active unions. _x000D__x000D_
- The cultural heritage of voluntary work leads to a reduction or absence of interaction of female unionists in union activities. _x000D__x000D_

There were several recommendations, the most notable of which are: _x000D__x000D_
- Hastening the end of the siege and unifying Palestinian union bodies in Gaza and the West Bank, in order for them to be more effective in defending union rights, and to have a strong and tangible presence. _x000D__x000D_
- Female unionists should search for innovative methods to energize female unionists and spread the culture of union activity
