This study aims to identify the reality of social protection at the Ministry of Social Affairs. also it aims to identify the main problems faced by the Social Protection Sector from the point of view of social workers at the Ministry of Social Affairs._x000D_
To achieve the objectives mentioned above, researchers used the descriptive analytical approach, supported on the method in desktop data collection depending on other documents and reports on social protection in the Palestinian territories, in addition to get preliminary information through a number of interviews with specialists and directors general at the Ministry of Social Affairs. The study included three main axes - in addition to the general framework of the problem and objectives of the study:_x000D_
Axis I: Scientific research and social protection in the Palestinian territories._x000D_
Axis II: The reality of social protection at the Ministry of Social Affairs._x000D_
Axis III: The issues faced by the Ministry of Social Affairs._x000D_
The study discussed the reality and the problems of social protection in the ministry through:_x000D_
First: The fight against poverty: cash assistance, food security, economic empowerment._x000D_
Second: The services provided to marginalized groups: services and care for the elderly, services and assistance with disabilities, protection and care of family and childhood, and taking care of children who dropped out of school and juveniles who committed offences._x000D_
The study concluded prioritize scientific research in the field of social protection in the hope of paying higher education institutions researchers from professors and graduate students to enrich this area of research, and enhance linkages between scientific research and the real needs of the ministry and groups that sponsored, and the development of performance administratively and organizationally and human, for the pursuit of formulate plans emanating from research priorities to contribute to the development and advancement of the Palestinian social reality.
