ملخص الدراسة:

In recent years, armed conflicts were allowing to different parties to take whatever necessary in order to weaken the enemy. Fighters were part of these actions, when fighters captured, they were subjected to the worst forms of torture, mistreatment and inhuman practices that reached sometimes to killing. Combined international efforts were taken to reduce these practices, and what helped was the development of international law rules that paid more attention to prisoners. Therefore, there were fixed rules constitute a significant part of the rules of international humanitarian law specifically concerned with prisoners specially four Geneva Conventions of 1949._x000D_
This research aims to shed light on the rules for prisoners from the moment of their arrest until their release and protection they deserve._x000D_
The importance of this issue and its implementation on Palestinian prisoners, we will discuss this issue in four chapters: Chapter I; origination of four conventions specially the third Geneva Convention on treatment of war prisoners from a historical perspective, Chapter II; persons who meet the description of prisoners of war, Chapter III; Protection of War prisoners, and in Chapter IV; (Israeli) violations regarding Palestinian prisoners.
