ملخص الدراسة:

The study aimed at identifying the role of the Palestinian universities in following-up graduates and its impact on the effectiveness of the universities' programs from the perspective of the graduate through a comparison study between the Islamic University of Gaza, An-Najah National University, and University College of Applied Sciences. To fulfill study aims, the researcher collected data using a questionnaire as a primary tool of data collection. The researcher adopted the analytical-descriptive approach. The Study sample consisted of the graduates from the foresaid three universities over the last three years constituting a whole number of (31,269) male and female graduates. The researcher distributed (450) questionnaires using stratified random sample. Some of the questionnaires were filled electronically by the sample due to the geographical distance between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and to let the graduates express freely. (401) questionnaires were retrieved representing a percentage of (89.1%). The researcher used SPSS program to analyze data. The study results showed that there is a role of universities in rehabilitating the graduates and developing their characters through; different programs presented by alumni units and continuing education centers, the availability of laboratories and equipment supporting these programs, and introducing specialists in assisting the graduates. The University college of Applied Sciences comes first in introducing specialists to assist its graduates, followed by An-Najah National University and then the Islamic University of Gaza. The results also showed that there is a gap between theoretical and practical education. Additionally, the graduates face difficulties in finding a job after graduation. The study concluded with recommendations that help in correcting weaknesses and increasing attention on keeping tracks with the graduates and providing them with different training programs. The researcher also recommended alumni unites in the targeted universities to develop work environment of the graduates in different fields, and to enhance their skills by providing free training and rehabilitation programs. It is also recommended for universities to send their graduates abroad to attends scientific and cultural programs, and to provide informational and technical environment as well as to raise funds for graduates programs.
