Train stations are some of the busiest spaces around the world. With the constant flow of users, these stations need to provide a high level of comfort. Flooring is a very important factor of comfort because it is always subjected to the users. This report will discuss the different types of flooring that could be used in train stations and compare between the innovative techniques. The main problem is that the flooring used in train stations might not be suitable for the heavy use and would need a lot of maintenance. The type of flooring has to be carefully considered according to several factors to reach a decision of the most suitable type. That's why the main objective is to review possible flooring techniques for train stations and compare between them to choose the most suitable and innovative one to use in Egypt. In conclusion the report presents a comparative analysis of different techniques for train stations that are efficient and also multifunctional, an understanding of how different systems can integrate with the flooring and finally reaching recommendations for use in Egyptian train stations.
