ملخص الدراسة:

This study aimed to investigate the attitudes towards therapeutic practice and its relationship with the professional efficiency among employees in mental health Centers in the Gaza Strip and to identify the fundamental differences on the attitudes towards therapeutic practice scale and the scale attributed to the following demographic variables (Sex, age, years of experience, Specialization, workplace, Educational level). The study also aimed to predict the degree of Professional Efficiency through the attitudes towards therapeutic practice. To reach the study intended findings, the researcher used two scales: Attitudes toward therapeutic practice scale and professional efficiency scale (both prepared by the researcher). The study sample, which was purposively selected, consisted of (118) Employee Working at Mental Health Centers in Gaza Strip. The researcher adopted the descriptive-analytical approach. The study findings were as follows: First, the employees had a high level of attitude towards therapeutic practice. Second, the employees in the mental health had a high degree of professional efficiency. Third, there was a statistically significant direct correlation between the total score of the attitudes toward therapeutic practice and the total score of professional efficiency. Fourth, there were statistically significant differences in the total score of the attitude scale towards therapeutic practice attributed to the variable of age( in favour of 45 years old and more). Fifth, there were statistically significant differences in attitudes towards therapeutic practice attributed to the variable of level of education in favour of those of higher studies. Sixth, there were no statistically significant differences in the total score of professional efficiency attributed to the variables of (age, educational level). Seventh, there were no statistically significant differences in the total scores of both attitudes towards therapeutic practice and professional Efficiency attributed to the following variables (Sex, Specialization, years of experience, workplace). Finally, there was a substantial statistically significant impact (i.e. 62.7%) of employees’ attitudes toward therapeutic practice on professional efficiency. The study's most important recommendations were as follows: First, developing new ways and methods aimed at reinforcing attitudes towards therapeutic practice. Second, raising employees’ professional Efficiency. Third, benefiting from the results of the study in the development of the evaluation criteria adopted by the Ministry of Health concerning employees in mental health centers. Fourth, identifying the aspects that hinder employees’ work. Fifth, holding clinical supervision meetings in each center. Finally, establishing recreational groups that may contribute to psychological debriefing among employees so as to alleviate work pressures.
