ملخص الدراسة:

The purpose of this study was to find out, the long term consequences of imprisonment and torture among Palestinian ex-political prisoners from the Gaza strip, who were subjected to imprisonment, torture and ill- treatment by Israeli interrogators and its relation to post trumatic stress_x000D_
In order to achieve the goals of the study the researcher used physical and psychological torture scale consisted of (46) statement divided into two sides, physical and psychological torture scale, and impact of event scale consisted of (14) statements divided into three sides, and symptoms check list 90 (SCL-90). _x000D_
The sample of the study was stratified random sample, consisting of (108) male ex-political prisoners from the Gaza strip, who were released after Wafa Al Ahrar deal in (2011). _x000D_
Results of the study: _x000D_
1- There was significant relation between intensity of torture and impact of event and post tramatic stress on ex-political prisoners. _x000D_
2- There was no significant differences in the long term traumatic stress related to the length of the imprisonment. (0 to less than 10 year- 10 years and more). _x000D_
3- finally the result showed that there is no significant correlation or difference between PTSD and psychological symptoms in relation to marital status, _x000D_
Study recommendations:_x000D_
- Make all the medical check for the ex political prisoners. _x000D_
- Produce all the social and physical courses for them for the governmental and non governmental associations._x000D_
- Hold social and psychological programs for the ex prisoners by the governmental and non governmental associations.
